Pastel Painting in the Plein Air Tradition
Workshop Dates: 6/20/2012 - 6/22/2012
Location: Lodi CA
115 S. School St.
Lodi California 95240
United States
Pastel Landscapes in the Plein Air Tradition is a three-day plein air workshop in the Lodi (CA) region, taught by Bay Area artist Kim Lordier. Kim believes strength in a painting comes from simplifying shapes and values. This workshop will emphasize composition and value patterns in the field or from photos, how to simplify what you see, and make suggestions on what to leave out and why. Artists will delve deeper into color temperature changes, edge control and atmospheric perspective. Kim will demonstrate her Turpenoid and pastel under-painting, and artists can expect one on one time at the easel. During the workshop there will be opportunity for discussion on the many sides of the art world, from framing and exhibiting to galleries and inspiration. Plan on working hard and having fun!
