This is one of those magical moments in painting when you do not remember the physical act of painting. Everything just fell into place and flowed without laborious thought.
I am honored to say this piece has been awarded third place in the lanscape division of the PASTEL JOURNAL MAGAZINE's 2004 competition. Article and image in the April 2004 issue.
This piece was also awarded first place in the Society of Western Artist's 53rd Annual Exhibition at the Academy of Art University Gallery, San Fracisco, in 2003.
"Sunset" was accepted into the 2005 Pastel Society of the West Coasts "Pastels USA" and was awarded the Daler-Rowney award.
